China Chilcano

China Chilcano was one of my top favorite restaurants in all of DC! For this blog, I will be talking about my go-to food place other than coffee. This restaurant is the most unique place I have ever eaten at. From their endless menu of thai courses to their sweet and spicy drinks, China Chilcano makes sure you are satisfied when you enter and exit as a guest!

Inside, there are many different ways to sit. Each has its only vibe with a great view of the city as well! Many colors in warm and cold themes are everywhere. It's a good chaotic feeling and almost comforting to the eye. The decor has always been fantastic too! Hanging lights, lamps, etc! Another part I loved about the atmosphere was the pillow arrangements and blankets. There was one area I sat with my friend at the time with a huge window to our left and bright colored pillows all in different patterns piled on the window seat. Behind us were little pillow stools too in case you want to go for a cup of tea or a small desert! I didn't get a chance to try their deserts but next time I go, I'll definitely try it with tea to get different seats for another thrilling, chill feeling!

When my friend and I were seated, our waitress asked us an interesting question. She asked how hungry we were and we said we were starving! Supposedly, all waiters and waitresses are supposed to ask what your hunger level is. Each menu comes in levels. If you're slightly hungry, there are snack meals you can order. If you're at a normal level of hunger, there are regular course meals served. And finally, if you're starving, like how my friend and I were, they give their biggest menu full of delicious meals. Before we ordered our lunch, we both ordered a tart mango tea and lemonade. The taste was very interesting but overall I would give it a 10/10 perfect rating!

China Chilcano does a great job with its fresh produce and making of food. It is also required to tell all guests that each ingredient put in your dishes is freshly opened and cut. Every spoonful and bite I had was always to my satisfaction. I wouldn't even tweak a single thing about the food I had. Next time I go, I hope to try the different menus and compare! I recommend trying this place for the first time you're in DC. Yes, it is expensive but it's all worth the experience and pictures! Who knows! You might try a whole new category of food and expand your palette you didn't know you could accomplish!
